BYRON

FOR THE BOOK

I only go out to get me / myself a fresh appetite for being alone. (a strong desire or liking for something; a craving, a yearning, a passion, a love ...)

I will have nothing to do with immortality. We are miserable enough in this life without speculating upon another. * ... without having to speculate on another.

I am not now that which I have been.

In solitude, where we are least alone. * (It's) in solitude where all the answers lie.

One of the pleasures of reading old letters is the knowledge that they need no answer.

Out-of-control emotions can make smart people stupid.

The busy have no time for tears.

The heart will break, but broken live on.

There is no instinct like that of the heart.

Though I love my country, I do not love my countrymen.

To have joy, one must share it.

What's drinking? A mere pause from thinking!

A timid mind is apt to mistake (misunderstand) every scratch for a mortal wound.

I awoke one morning and found myself famous

I awoke one morning and found myself famous.

If I could always read, I should never feel the want of company. .

For truth is always strange; stranger than fiction.

If I don't write to empty my mind, I go mad.

Like the measles, love is most dangerous when it comes late in life.

Man's love is of man's life a part; it is a woman's whole existence. In her first passion, a woman loves her lover, in all the others all she loves is love.

The great art of life is sensation, to feel that we exist, even in pain.

There is music in all things, if men had ears

I do not believe in any religion, I will have nothing to do with immortality. We are miserable enough in this life without speculating upon another

Man, being reasonable, must get drunk; the best of life is but intoxication.

Alcohol, taken in sufficient quantities, may produce all the effects of drunkenness

Reason is so unreasonable, that few people can say they are in possession of it.

Reason is so unreasonable, that few people can say they are in possession of it.

Curiosity kills itself; and love is only curiosity, as is proved by its end.

A celebrity is one who is known to many persons he is glad he doesn't know

A mistress never is nor can be a friend. While you agree, you are lovers; and when it is over, anything but friends.

Absence - that common cure of love.

Adversity is the first path to truth.

Always laugh when you can. It is cheap medicine.

Be hypocritical, be cautious, be not what you seem but always what you see.

Fame is the thirst of youth

Friendship is Love without his wings!

Friendship may, and often does, grow into love, but love never subsides into friendship.

I deny nothing, but doubt everything.

Nothing can confound a wise man more than laughter from a dunce. (dumb, moron, idiot)

Self-love for ever creeps out, like a snake, to sting anything which happens to stumble upon it
